What is it?

Bio-Oil® is a specialist skincare product that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Its advanced formulation, which contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil™, also makes it highly effective for numerous other skin concerns, including aging skin and dehydrated skin.

Bio-Oil should be massaged in a circular motion into the scar and surrounding skin, twice daily, for a minimum of 3 months. Younger scars have a greater chance of improvement within a shorter time period, however, older scars will also benefit from the regular use of Bio-Oil. On new scars, Bio-Oil should be applied only once the wound has healed, and should never be used on broken skin.

Where can it be bought?

It can be bought are most local drugstores or supermarkets. You do not need to go to any specialist store to buy this.

I know it can be bought in the United Kingdom and Unites Status. I’m not sure about other countries. If you are unable to buy this in your country, you will have to buy it online (e.g. Ebay).

For UK readers: You can buy them at most Boots stores for £9-£20 (depending on the size). I also found it on for a slightly cheaper price.

What did I use it for?

I used it for the scars and blemishes on my face. I used this day and night everyday for 3 months.

I used it on my body a few times because it made my skin soft and smelt nice.

Did it work?

It did work! The scars and blemish were visibly reduced after the 3 month period. It also improved the evenness of my skin. I don’t have as many patches of redness anymore. It has not completely reduced my scars and blemishes but it’s a big improvement.

I’m going to continue using this product because my skin feels really hydrated and soft after using it. I would also like to continue improving my skin.

However I am only going to use it at night because it does make my skin feel a bit oily, although it does not look oily. I want to go back to using my mattifying day cream as it’s the summer season now. My skin is extra oily during the hot weathers.

Would I recommend it?

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to improve the unevenness of their facial skin or reduce any scars on their body.

I would recommend that they buy the small bottle (60ml) if they only want to use it for their face. This product (like all skin care products) may not always work in everyone. It’s best to purchase the small size one to try it out because it is pretty expensive. The 60ml bottle will last more than 3 months.
