Chinese New Year was on Saturday 28th January this year. It’s traditional to have a family meal on new years eve. This year, my family and I headed out to Chinatown, London, at Golden Phoenix for our meal.
All the restaurants were really busy with a short queue outside. We waited for 20mins before we were shown to our seats. We ordered a few dishes from the special Chinese New Year menu and some from the regular menu.
The dishes on the special menu were all dishes that contains ingredients that mean joyful things like good luck, be happy, be rich, good health etc
On the bank holiday Monday last month, we visited the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio at Watford, London. We bought our tickets a month in advance which is something I would strongly advice. The tickets sell out around 3-4 weeks in advance.
We started the journey with Google maps informing us on two accidents on the M25 causing massive delays and advised us to take another route. We didn’t get on the motorway till the last 15-20mins of the journey. It was such a shame as I really wanted a long nap, and the motorway is the perfect place for a comfy nap in the car.
It was a pretty rainy grey day but luckily 90% of it was indoors.
The studio held a portion of the original props, artwork, costumes, film sets, paper models and drawings. There were also an outside area which showcased the night bus and Pivot Drive.
Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria. We took a day trip to this city during our time in Austria last year. We caught a 2hr 30mins train from Vienna which we pre-booked before arriving at Vienna.
This city had a very different feel from Vienna and it felt more surreal and fairy tale like. This could be due to knowing that some of the scenes of Sound of Music were filmed here and and in the surrounding mountains.
One of the most beautiful places we visited in Vienna, Austria last summer, was the Schönbrunn Palace. It’s a former imperial summer residence and now one of the major attractions in Vienna. This is a must visit for attraction, palace and sightseeing lovers.
We got off at the Schönbrunn tube station, and almost everyone that got off at this stop was for the palace. We just followed everyone else, and walked about 5mins to the palace.
We went on an extremely sunny day with a beautiful blue sky and soft white clouds. This made the scenery even more stunning.
