Discovering the local woodlands with my new puppy

May 30, 2017

At the end of February, we bought in a young puppy into our home, an Alaskan Klee Kai who we’ve named Kiba. For those that aren’t already following him on Instagram you can check him out @little_kiba_explores

One of the activity we love doing with him is going outside to new places and experience new things. Along the way we discovered two local woodlands that we never thought could exist within Greater London.

Fort Kitchen, Winchester, Hampshire

May 25, 2017

A quirky cafe that serves delicious and well-presented dishes are one of my favourite type of cafes. Fort Kitchen in Winchester is exactly that. When I was visiting Winchester with my family, we needed to stop somewhere for lunch, so I opened up my Tripadvisor app and found this awesome looking cafe. I checked out the photos of the food, along with the reviews and overall rating. I was glad that we decided to visit Fort Kitchen as we had a wonderful time. You’ll see from the photos below that the food was very well-presented as well as tasted amazing. Winchester is pretty far from London, so this won’t be a place I’ll visit often, however, I won’t mind going back again whenever we pass the town.

On the Bab, Covent Garden, London

April 11, 2017

At my previous job, On the Bab was my “treat myself” lunch place but since I changed job last year I couldn’t go back there for lunch. I decided to head there for dinner with a friend after work. They changed the menu slightly but nevertheless, it was still delicious. Unfortunately, my friend didn’t enjoy it as much as I did as everything had chilli mayo which he isn’t too crazy about.

We got there as early as possible to grab a table as the place is small, and will fill up very quickly during peak times. The service is relatively quickly, so we were pretty much done within 1hr 30mins.

Birthday at Dozo, Soho, London

February 14, 2017

Last November (2016), I attended a birthday dinner at Dozo, a fine dining sushi restaurant in sushi. I was surprised by Dozo and I think their marketing might be slightly misleading. They market themselves as a “fine dining” restaurant, therefore I expected high prices, amazing quality and taste, and outstanding presentation. What I received was just a tiny bit above average for a relatively average price. Despite the wrong first impression I wasn’t disappointed with the food and service for the price I paid at the end of the meal.

Birthday evening at Pho & Bun and Tsujiri, Chinatown, London

February 9, 2017

My friend Amy hosted a birthday dinner at Pho & Bun in Chinatown last November. This was the second we’ve been to this restaurant. We stumbled upon it on a hunt for a late lunch after our haircut in September.

I ordered the raw beef pho with an additional mango and prawn salad to share. I really love both of these dishes and they’re currently my favourite from Pho & Bun. The beef broth from Pho & Bun is extremely flavoursome, one of the best pho I’ve had so far. I just wish that the portion size wasn’t a bit bigger.
